Bob Barr, presidential nominee of the Libertarian in Name Only Party, snubbed today’s Campaign for Liberty press conference where Ron Paul urged voters to reject the 2 establishment candidates and urged voters to choose one of the anti-establishment candidates. Barr told Campaign for Liberty Events Coordinator Dan Rasmussen that it just isn’t worth it for him to appear and receive an endorsement as an anti-establishment choice in this election.
Considering that Barr has spent most of his career jailing people on behalf of the DC establishment for possessing substances that the government disapproves of and now claims to have seen the light, even though he has praised the murderous troop surge, advocated intervention in Iran and South America, and even supported the absurd conviction of honor roll student Genarlow Wilson for having consensual oral *** (which drew national attention for its injustice and was eventually thrown out by the courts).
Has Bob Barr shown his true colors here? Should anti-establishment voters (those who agree with the principles outlined @ http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/022783.html ) vote for somebody other than Bob Barr? Considering that he no-showed the Campaign for Liberty’s event and the awful things he’s supported since he’s claimed to have seen the light, can anybody really believe that he favors ending the War on Iraq ASAP, bringing troops home from Korea, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East, putting a stop to the war propaganda and threats against Iran, not reigniting the Cold War, being willing to negotiate with all nations, taking nuclear first strikes off the table, repealing or radically changing the Patriot Act, Military Commission Act, and FISA, rejecting torture, reinstating habeas corpus, ending secret tribunals and shutting down secret prisons, opposing immunity for corporations that spy on American citizens, rejecting the unitary president, illegal use of signing statements, and excessive use of executive orders, not increasing the national debt, auditing the Federal Reserve and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial elites, ending the arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air for the benefit of commercial interests, abolishing bailouts of corporations and corporate subsidies, and aggressively prosecuting corporations for their crimes and frauds?
Is Bob Barr for or against the current Corporate State, its wars, and its Corporate Socialism?
